Merhaba my dear Friends,
Here I am again jumping to another topic and never following one direction but I am sure like me MiMi’cim post touched your heart and you will forgive me if I postpone my topic about Love in AIM to another time, in fact talking about mothers is also talking about love. MiMi’cim I am happy to read and learn from your post how much we are standing at the same window about a lot of things related to this movie.
In the big house 4 persons grew up without having their biological mother around. Behlul, Besir, Nihal and Bulent. It’s interesting to see how each of them was dealing with this missing in a different way.
Bulent the little boy … always looking for a nice gesture from anybody at home. He is willing to receive any attention from any of the habitant of the big house, he always takes it as a gesture of love. In the episode when we saw him getting his own room, we could learn how the happy and easygoing little boy was in fact carrying his own wounds. His needs to say the word annem was a heartbreaking moment. So many things happened at that instant.
His enthusiasm for his new room hurts his sister’s feeling. Nihal discovered that she was wrong thinking she was successful in playing the role of the mom for him.
Instead Samar Hanem won the title of mom just for preparing a room for him. The perception of the two kids of Samar’s gesture is interesting to look at with more attention. He simply took it as a gesture of attention and love from her because he is eager of any gesture of love. Looking for a mom substitute, he didn’t pay attention to his sister’s feeling, nor to the fact that the woman who was the only mom he had was subtly pushed away. Well the boy is too young and too much things were suddenly rounding him. I was sorry for him for being the only kid in this complex world of adults.
Nihal instead was very much hurts. her case is kind of complex. Part of her reaction is like you said, by playing the mom to others. She knows how is it to grow up missing a mom and she wants to protect everybody around her from the pain of this missing…. I will add Behlul to your list of her adopted kids.
Behlul, refuses any real attachment. I think he is the reason why they all failed to be the mother substitute for him. I guess he refused to open up to another possible mother and felt his role was more to comfort the kids after they lost their own mom. It was a kind of self punishment. I see a lot of self destruction in Behlul’s character but it’s too early to talk about this aspect yet. May be I am wrong about him.
Besir, well for me a little bit scary character. He thinks life owes him something and this something is Nihal.
Quote my MiMi:
My Wise lady loved reading your vision about Behlul and how losing his mother caused major diverts on his life BUT I never pictured him with Adnan's wife, always thought of him arriving to the big house after the mother of the kids passed away..
Well MiMi’cim, for me from the moment I knew Behlul’s story, I wanted to know if he was there before or after Nihal’s mom passed away and I didn’t stop asking myself about it until I got the answer in one of the episodes. It was after the big fight he had with Nihal. Yes Nihal’s mom hugged him and wiped his tears when he arrived at the big house. For some time she was a mother substitute for him.

Love is never one: Part 1. Yes we know this truth. Well personally it took me time to learn it but I am always slow to get things.
Wise lady first of all GREAT post my dear. Second, move a little bit and let me sit beside you yes like this !!
You are reminding me of what Ihsan Abdel Kuddous said years before I was born " In the life of each of us, a big fake named the first love " and the dizi allowed me to hear it once again from you with the year 2010 style.
Bihtar trusted this faked call and moved with it's waves and concluded with a forbidden love.
Biser enjoyed living this delusion too which made him accept to be Nihal's shadow.
Camila believed it also and she is going on destroying her youth for this faked first love.
Well I won't say more till I read your part 2 abla
HOPkiss to all

Mothers
Merhaba sevgili arkadaşlar;
MOTHERS
I wanted to share this post the same day Zafiroti talked about Behlul .. It was gharip to see Wise lady referring to motherhood and its effect on Behlul's complicated personality coz I was not far from that zone myself and Behlul is one of my reasons to think of the meaning of the word " MOTHER " inside AiM ..
It started while watching Ms. Deniz at Nihal's concert , the tears coming down from her eyes when Nihal was performing her play were so touchy to my heart .. her face & looks were SATURATED with love to her beautiful girl .. She was so proud of what she has accomplished so far with her non biological daughter. I heard myself asking a question about the show " who is the real mama here " ..
In our countries we say " a mother is the one who raised not only who gave birth " , I find it so applicable in Ms. Deniz case. Practically she is the REAL MAMA for the two kids.
My Wise lady loved reading your vision about Behlul and how losing his mother caused major diverts on his life BUT I never pictured him with Adnan's wife, always thought of him arriving to the big house after the mother of the kids passed away .. interesting to see it from your own side & perspective. I think in his case, Ms. Deniz failed to contain him with her care and love the same way she did to Nihal & Bulent .. so minus the 3rd mother .. then comes the auntie (Adnan's sister) who also didn't mind his needs at a very young age although she is fulfilling her motherhood nature in Biser the boy who lived since childhood at her brother's house and she is allowing him to call her mom .. then again minus the 4th mother for you Behlul'cim.
Nihal, is another positive character playing the role of a young Mama to her brother perfectly .. she is taking this task seriously .. for this she got angry when Bulent called Bihtar " Mom " .. he's always been her own son after their mother died. Not only her brother but also Biser she is treating him like a concerned mom to assure herself by keeping her promise to her own mother.
Baysan (Bihtar's sister), is another good example of motherhood .. now she has proven she is the daughter of her father, her tenderness towards her baby boy is typically what she learnt from his kindness.
Fayrouz hanem my canimsin, everything to describe her is against motherhood , she is so empty of any emotional characteristics a mother should naturally feel & behave. She doesn't deserve to be called " anne " .. she is nothing but an elder abla to her two daughters.
Bihtar, the lady who inherited a copy of her mother's heartless genes .. her tendency to destroy her mother inside her soul has driven her to terminate the pregnancy & get rid of her first baby. She deceived herself with a false satisfaction accepting Bulent calling her mom !!
Out of AiM
I'm very thankful My Ral'cim showed up last night this lady is a blessing wherever she goes and whenever she talks, we call her THE MOTHER OF THE FORUM, her motherhood is beyond the expectation , and her love to each one of us is unbelievable, she takes us as a package with her kids inside her heart. Beside her lovely kids I'm so lucky to have her in my life
My Latoofii'cim under this funny Demira a GREAT MOTHER is hiding .. this lady is AMAZING with kids and not only her sweet kids, I realized this beautiful side of her last year like this time when I had to take care of my friend's two young children while she went to Makkah to perform Hajj .. the little girl was a disaster trouble maker I had to keep a close eye on her to insure her safety .. I included my friends in my situation by joking together in the chitchat, I think my fun sounded too serious without paying attention from me and there was my surprise the following day when I signed in to the forum I received my first personal message from My Latafa I guess she couldn't sleep from my words she really was trying to give me all the support to understand the girl's psychological need missing her mom and to be honest the mother of the girl NEVER done it all that time till she arrived back. But Latoofii was the one worried and I wanted so badly to give a telephone call and let her listen to the naughty girl herself to trust that it's my habit to joke using serious tone. Whenever I say grilled frogs she answers NO I'm cooking chicken legs to my kids I find my self loving her more & more
MiMi Lubb Ooooooooooooo canimsiniz !!

Love is never one: Part 1
Merhaba ablas,
Here I am once again to talk about AIM.
Love is never one: Yes we know this truth. Well personally it took me time to learn it but I am always slow to get things.
The way we love and the way we live and express our love doesn’t fit into a specific pattern. And this movie is wonderfully portraying this important fact . Love is an emotion and consequently something hard to define then we measure it with actions: What the other do for us to show us how much they love us and what we do for them to show them how much we love them but the game isn’t that simple because there is also what we expect the others to do for us and vice versa. And to make it more complicated there is our perception of all these actions we do in the name of love.
It’s takes pages and pages to talk about all the different ways we see people dealing with love in this dizi, receiving it and giving it and It’s so tricky to understand it sometimes but so realistic that I want to take a trip into it.
A lot of forms of Love are portrayed in the Dizi, involving adults and Kids in it. We can focus on different kind of filial Love- Adnan Bey and his kids, Fayrouz Hahem and her daughters, Jemila and her parents.
We can see different form of Romantic Love, Deniz’s Loves for Adnan Bey, Adnan Bey loves for Samar, Samar’s Love for Adanan Bey, Cemila’s love for Besir , Besir’s love for Nihal, Nihal’s love for Behlul…Other forms of love like the love of Behlul for his cousins, the love of Deniz for the kids she raised like her own kids and their love to her, the love that exist between the maids and the kids…I will look st some of them closer.
Deniz’s Love for Adnan is a ‘package’. Her feeling includes the whole family, father and kids are together in the picture. She loves Adnan bey the father as much as Adnan bey the man. Adnan bey took what Deniz gave to them as a gift and never questioned himself why this woman spent the most beautiful years of her life being the mother substitute for his kids without never showing any sign of lassitude. The first time he talked about Deniz to Bihtar he said (Episode 6, MBC4): We are her second family, We love her very much and we need her. For him the equation is simple. They need her as much and she needs them.
They both had wounds to heal and they had the opportunity to help each other. She got the family she didn’t have and they got the mother substitute. Yes it’s a form of love. The form of love based on the need we have of somebody. That why Adnan bey didn’t need to find a mom for his kids and when one day, he decided to move forward and look for a second opportunity in life closing the door to the past, he didn’t include his kids in the big picture of this change. For him, their life will continue the same way and only his life will change. He was totally aware of his choice since in one of his discussion with Miss Deniz in the episode when she informed Nihal she was leaving, he told her : now we need you more.
Adnan’s love for Bihtar is more tricky to understand. Adnan loved an image he had about Bihtar. He was aware their love had no foundations but he thought Bihtar is the right woman for him after years of suffering and she has the qualities to make their marriage a good and safe one. He though it had all the ingredients to see the real love happening later between them. That why we heard him in Bolum 13 (MBC version) after they danced the Tango before dinner saying:

Our life will be better, and everyday that passes we will get closer and closer… until we will become soul mates.
He exclusively, talked about the love they will reach in the future, the one he wished for when he asked her to marry him. That why I agree with you MiMi’cim and I found you described perfectly Adnan’ bey with your lines below.
Quote
Adnan bey is the one looking at the future, he is finally thinking forward to achieve something different in his life or change his destiny, the opportunity came to him and he took the advantage of it, it might not come again if he didn't move fast, he got the attention of the young lady who recently lost her father who meant the safe shelter for her and now she is so fragile yani a good catch, she is searching for her father's warm look in Adnan's eyes.
And now episode after episode we are seeing how he is discovering his big mistake about her. Well, he isn’t recognizing it as a mistake yet but it’s clear he is surprised to know her little by little. I had fun watching in some scenes Adnan bey’s facial expression looking at Bihtar and asking himself how he couldn’t see how much she is like Fayrouz Hanem.
Bihtar’s love for Adnan is only based on the love of herself. Bihtar had several reasons to accept Adnan Bey as a husband but none of the reasons is love and that why she feels the need to repeat all the time how much she is in love with him. For bihtar love is a game to reach personal happiness and to flatter her ego. For her love is: Show me how much you love me and how much you do for me then I will do my best to be sweet and beautiful. For her love is SAYING ‘ I love you’ and ‘canim’.
Her reaction to Adnan bey when he talked about soul mates says it all. She was like ‘What is he talking about?’. She was scared to know that he wasn’t the kind man she can entertain with the superficial things of life to get the perfect life she dreams of as a selfish woman. And her plan to have him at her feet and to be the center of the world for him was for a moment shaked.
Sorry for being so long with my post, I will stop here for today but please feel free to correct my perception about the characters or to add anything I omitted ..
I will continue the second part in another post soon I hope. It’s interesting to talk about the youngest and the way they deal with love and what it means for them. Talk to you soon Inshallah.

Who is Behlul?
Merhaba my dear friends,
I am an old and slow African train, I enjoy taking my time at each station without worrying about what will happen in the next one. My only concern for now is to look at the people living all together in the big house and try to understand who they are and why, what are their dreams, fears, hope etc. it’s too early for me to think of the forbidden love or anything else that will happen in the future since I am still interested in their past to understand their present. Tonight I want to talk about Behlul.
Who is Behlul?

Tonight I want to talk about Behlul.
Who is Behlul?
I feel if I don’t try to understand who is Behlul now, later it will be too late because he will be much more lost and harder to define. Behlul is a young handsome man full of insecurity and fears. Like the kids he grew up with, he lost his parents when he was young. Adnan Bey took him home and with his wife they decided to give him all the attention and love he needed as if he was their own kid. He had his second opportunity but not for very long. Yes Behlul has a deep wound, he lost 2 mothers. The one who gave him birth and the one who chose him after he lost his parents.
After losing his both mothers Behlul decided not to trust love anymore, specially not the one coming from women. He feels responsible of the death of the mother of Nihal and Bulent like if he brought the curse to the house, like if his destiny was to grow up without a mom and by forcing the destiny the kids lost their mom (He understand Bulent’s feeling of guilt more than anyone else at that house). That why he never could get rid of his insecurity and never could feel he was a full member of this family. He is always scared to lose them and to find himself alone in life. He doesn’t know who is he really, he doesn’t know where to stand really relatively to this family.
He can’t consider himself like Nihal and Bulent because in fact he is ‘Behlul Haznedar’ and not ‘Behlul Ziyagil’. but he doesn’t want to think he is standing with Beshir and Jemila with whom he grew up in the big house. He is in between and that why he is always looking down at Besir reminding him they are not standing at the same place in the house (for the great pleasure of Jemila who has her reasons to enjoy watching Beshir looked down by Behlul) .
Of course he has no reason for it and everybody in the big house always considered him a son more of Adnan Bey but he carries this insecurity because emotionally, he is still the little kid who arrived in the family years ago and he refuses to grow up. He made the choice not to grow up because he is scared if he becomes an ‘Adult’ they may ask him to continue his own path alone. He thinks he needs to win them again and again and with his actions he keeps reminding them of the little kid who arrived years ago and his strategy works.
The most interesting scene to understand Behlul is the one we watched after his big fight with Nihal. His confusion and reaction when he heard Miss Deniz telling him about the feeling of Nihal toward him were interesting to observe.
The character doesn’t leave the viewer indifferent, I am sure either you love him or you hate him and in the same episode, you may love him and hate him the same time. You are sorry for him sometimes and angry at him other times, because most of the time he doesn’t know how to catch the happiness within his reach.
Muchos besos,

Around the Mirrors (A reply)
It has been a while for me I didn’t talk here. It’s a big paradox but I have so much to say that I am blocked to say anything. The flow of emotions, feelings and thoughts is so big that I have problems to focus on writing on each of them without jumping from one topic to another.
I mean the story itself is very interesting but the way the director is telling it is as interesting as the story itself. The director, the art director, the camera are working in an incredible harmony to talk to us not only with words but also with symbols and here MiMi’cim you made me see one of those symbols they are using: The mirrors.
Thank you for opening my eyes to understand better things I had as a question mark and that your great post helped me to find answers to them. I knew from the first episode that everything we see, any single details around has its importance and that why I wanted to understand 2 things from the beginning.
The first question was why did they show us Adnan Bey asking for Behtar’s hand in the cemetery and didn’t do it in another place? Well I got the answer step by step to this question.
The other one was What was the message behind the first mirror scene of Nihal. Why did they introduce to us Nihal through the mirror and I was sure it had a meaning.
And tonight thanks to you I got my answer. Thank you so much habibti for being my eyes when I can’t see what I have in front. The mirror scenes are all telling us something interesting and you did a great job in calling our attention to this symbol. I am understand more and more things thanks to you.
For example, It’s interesting to see that showing us Fayrouz Hanem looking at her image in the mirror so often isn’t talking about a gesture of a woman coquetry or vanity but about her fear to be seen inside, for her life is a poker game and to win she has to keep taking care of her appearance thinking that people want see her ugly real face, I mean the one she carries inside.
Talking about how much Behter is a dark copy of her mom, the mirror scenes are also giving us an answer. I noticed that they repeat showing us Behtar preparing for dinner sitting in front of her mirror. In fact the way the camera is showing those scenes that are natural gesture for a young and new married woman, are giving us another message. The message that Behtar needs to wear a ‘mask’ every time she has to meet with the big family and her sitting in front of the mirror is a ritual for her to hide her inner dark side.

The smart stairs mirror, wow what a mirror we've got here, it's super in connecting the house residents together .. it brought to us a very important moment between Adnan & his young daughter.
Yes the mirror was here to capture this crutial moment for the 3 of them. The moment that was going to see their life forever changed. It was a clever choice for the director to make Miss Deniz part of the scene from upstairs but still the mirror effect showed her closer since its position was between the 2 floors. Miss Deniz had to keep distance while father and daughter were talking because in fact she can’t forget she is the miss in this family and not a full member of it but the same time Miss Deniz is the closest person to them.

Her mother was so quick, turned her directly to the mirror and let her face the ugly truth (the fruit doesn't fall far from its own tree) she basically inherited the same greediness, same anger & same arrogance. She is the dark version of Fayrouz hanem.
I loved this scene so much and I want to say that Beren did a great job in it. When her mom obliged her to face her image in the mirror we saw in her facial expression the negation to accept what she was seeing. But I won’t say more about her for tonight.
And once again this movie showed, we can all find ourselves in it. Just like the characters of the movie, all of us we stop to look at our image in the mirror certainly several time a day but how often do we look at ourselves inside. Certainly less than we should do.
Thank you MiMi'cim for sharing with us this wonderful post that shows once again the great movie we are having here.
Love you all.

Around the Mirrors
My dear friends today I want to share with you something I find it so creative in AiM , the mirrors and the connections of people around them ..
It's interesting to see the unique style of the mirror utilization in the dizi to give different meanings inside many scenes.
Habitually we are used to watch the actor/actress fixing their appearance in the mirror :
Like when Nehal is putting the tiny girly clips in her silky hair.
Like when Raneem (Nehal's friend) is arranging her look every time she knows Muhanad ( Behlul ) is present.
Like when Fayrouz hanem is keeping her handy mirror at her bedside after her discharge from the hospital, being a guest at Adnan bey's house is so relaxing for her as much as it's stressful for everyone else surrounding her. Between checking her makeup in the mirror, and fixing her hair in the mirror, she is having another quick look at the mirror.
Another powerful moments were caught in the mirror :
Ms. Deniz and the reflection of her sad face on the small mirror located on top of her desk during the irritable moment she lived trying to write the resignation letter to Adnan bey.
The smart stairs mirror, wow what a mirror we've got here, it's super in connecting the house residents together .. it brought to us a very important moment between Adnan & his young daughter Nehal before going to Fayrouz hanem's house asking for her daughter's hand , both were downstairs and the mirror bonded Ms. Deniz with them at the same minute while standing upstairs. Her facial expression was revealing a lot like if she wanted to scream and stop Adnan from his irreversible decision and how her heart was breaking into pieces from Nehal's suffer. The smart mirror didn't leave us till Adnan went out of the door & Nehal ran immediately to Ms. Deniz upstairs and embraced her tightly, cried on her shoulder to feel safe between the arms she always known and be reassured to accept the new coming situation.
The big confrontation between Fayrouz hanem & Behtar in front of the dining room's wide mirror, She showed her how foolish she is, believing she is representing her father with his honest line in life while she is typically a negative copy of her mother Fayrouz hanem.
Her mother was so quick, turned her directly to the mirror and let her face the ugly truth (the fruit doesn't fall far from its own tree) she basically inherited the same greediness, same anger & same arrogance. She is the dark version of Fayrouz hanem.
This scene as I see it is the key to Behtar's complicated personality.
Nehal sadness of the unknown was clearly reflected on her father's bedroom two mirrors the night prior to his wedding ceremony, the girl was lost and nearly depressed moving in circles checking the changes in the room, smelling her late mother soulful scent for the last time. She had to enter that night as if her inner voice was reminding her " From tomorrow your parents room will be forbidden for you " .
Finally a very special thanks to the black & golden mirror on the floor for the funny shot it gave us while vacating the house .. watching Katia (Fayrouz hanem's right hand and arrogant butler) using both hands to carry the heavy bag of her Ma'am with all energy that she got is absolutely something NOT TO BE MISSED. It's a small dose of her coming misery at Adnan bey's house.
MiMi Lubb Ooooooo !!
It's interesting to see the unique style of the mirror utilization in the dizi to give different meanings inside many scenes.
Habitually we are used to watch the actor/actress fixing their appearance in the mirror :
Like when Nehal

About Nihal: Part 2
Merhaba my dear friends,

MiMi’cim I just saw your both posts . I am speechless. Habibti you did a great job resolving my quiz.
Wise Lady'cim thank you dear for reading my assignment .. I hope you'll evaluate me fairly not with generosity like Tinkoora'cim .. she gave me 9/10 although I colored her eyes & hair wrongly

In fact it’s good the movie ended and all we have to do is to watch each episode reading between the lines .. We aren’t focusing on the future of the story losing the essence of it because of the stress of what will happen ..
I totally agree with you habibti .. I can't speed up with the flow of events .. we are now on bolum 20 and I can't move from the first five episodes emotionally.
AiM is not the kind of dizi to be watched for suspense .. it's a social form of drama that can happen so often in real life .. some stories remind us of our own .. some characters we learn lessons from their experiences.

This movie is making me take incredible trips inside the complex nature of human being.
One time in a previous post you said Ms. Deniz is making you looking into each character from her window .. I took your lines and tried to see if this is possible for me as well and after sometime I found my answer .. it is Nehal .. she is the one till now making me looking into everything and everyone in this dizi using her eyes, moods and way of thinking.
Glad that your wind reached her this time to give us the opportunity to read your marvelous post.
Yes Nehal gives wrong impression about her personality because she is still too young to understand her own behavior but as you said abla'cim if she seems self-centered in few scenes, immediately she gives the explanation behind it in the following one.
We noticed her childish behavior when she loses control and surrenders herself to fainting episodes .. these are the only times I felt she is overreacting out of her fear of losing her father's love to another woman in the future.
Interesting personality indeed, though Ms. Deniz described her unsocial but we can see how being an isolated kid then a teenager didn't stop her from having internal hidden self maturity, surly Ms. Deniz deserves all the credit with her great love, care and input in this young lady, and this is the part you explained beautifully with your special signature.
Their scene together at Nehal's bedroom the day after Fayrouz hanem's accident and admission to the hospital in unstable condition is one of the perfect moments to see the style of communication between the two of them.
Here Nehal proved she is very smart, she had all the answers to her question marks before asking them but this is how she keeps the conversation running and gets the attention of her lovely substitute mother and remarkable teacher over the years.
It looked like if she was thinking by herself loudly, she found in Ms. Denis a good listener to her thoughts, she was explaining to her what it means to live without a mother knowing that her Miss lost her mother too then for me she was emphasizing on the importance of loving mothers no matter what mistakes they may have in their lives and how Bihtar should be more thankful for her mother's survival .. the little girl was wondering how she never saw a single tear for what happened in Bihtar's eyes at the hospital, she was the only one among the adults in the waiting area noticing her serious rocky look what made her more suspicious from this woman's side. Then she is the only one with sharp intuition in the family reading between everyones lines.
I'm sure the wind will bring me to Nehal several times, she is worth to be under our focus.

About Nihal
My dear friends,
Here I am back. I have so much to say about this movie but sometimes I simply can't focus on one aspect because when a movie talks about the human nature and feeling it's so hard to make abstraction and dissociate things that are naturally related.
As you see MiMi'cim me too I go with the wind. Don't be surprised to see me back to any of your previous posts because I still have a lot to say about what you said but for today the wind took me to another direction.
This movie is making me take incredible trips inside the complex nature of human being. The accident of Fayrouz (Firdevs) Hanem made us meet each of the character in a deeper way. The possible death of Fayrouz Hanem opened wounds of each of the member of Adan Bey’s family. I want to talk about each of them but for today I will start with Nihal.
In the episode about the accident we saw how Nihal is bothered because Samar doesn’t seem affected by the possibility of her mother ‘s death. She doesn’t understand why her own pain for losing her mom years ago is still so deep while Samar doesn’t seem very much affected?
But we learned much more about Nihal through that scene and we could see how deep and close to a mother- daughter relationship she had with Mademoiselle (Another topic but I will postpone it until I talk about the Character of Ms Deniz, I hope).
What can I say about Nihal, this young lady apparently self-centred and who may bother us with her apparent childish behavior? Episode after episode we are building the puzzle about her personality. Nihal isn’t self-centred at all. She cares about everybody, she loves. She is always trying to give everyone a piece of her big heart. She gives a lot to her beloved ones and that why she also expect a lot from them.
We know how much she worried about Behlul when he left home and how she was giving him money because she knew he won’t have any. She felt responsible of him even though she is much younger and at 25 he should be able to survive alone in the outside real world.
We know how much she cares about Mademoiselle, for example her father said, for long time she tried to find her father in Paris. She even charged Behlul to look for him when he went to Paris.
We all know how much she cares about her father and we remember when she was telling him she won’t get married to stay with him. We also saw how much efforts she made to accept her father marriage with Bihter and how she asked him not to give up on his life for them. It was a brave attitude.
We know how much she worries about his brother and how much responsible she feels toward him. She takes seriously her promise to her mother to take care of his little brother. We saw how much bothered, she was to hear him calling Samar: Mama. The immediate reason of her anger seemed to be jealousy but we knew later that it wasn’t the only reason. She was moved by more than one reason. She acted this way to protect her bother from life’s slaps. She worries about him and his wounds if the lady he decided to call mom decides to leave them. She is doing what moms usually do for their kids, she is trying to protect her brother from being hurt. An impossible mission but she is trying.
Yes Nihal is noisy and impulsive and sometimes even excessive in her reactions but it’s something natural at her age (and I hope she will keep forever part of this in her personality as an adult). With her brother, they are the life in their house. Sometimes, I am unable to understand why having these two kids around him, their father is still having this sad look,? How their smile couldn’t heal his wounds all these years? Yes we saw his look of pride when he look at them and they make him smile from time to time but the smile is always quickly followed by this typical look of him.
I won’t finish my post about Nihal without talking once again about Mademoiselle Deniz (Lamis). We can see how day after day this woman is teaching this young lady beautiful things about life and people. After each crisis we saw how she knew when to talk to her and when to give her space to be alone. And everytime she talked to her we saw her trying her best to make her rethink her actions without forcing anything to happen. Using communication, the simplest tool we all have but we he forget so often to use, Mademoiselle Deniz always reaches Nihal heart and mind with her words and the tone she uses to say them.
Thank you to the young Hazal Kaya for portraying a such complex character with so much talent. And for the writers for making such interesting characters in this movie.
Muchos besos,
Your African sister Zafiro.

I really think this is the greatness of this movie, It has so much things to talk about that it’s very hard to focus on one thing the same time. I couldn’t write in the last days because plenty of subjects were hitting my mind taking me in different directions. Then don’t worry to go where the wind takes you because it’s exactly what I am doing. And it’s what is making this experience together through this movie so enjoyable.
Today I was trying to write something and once again the wind was taking me in different directions and I was just thinking we are lucky to have this movie to makes us think about plenty of real life things.
In fact it’s good the movie ended and all we have to do is to watch each episode reading between the lines without having confusing trailers and without the need to speculate about what will happen.
We aren’t focusing on the future of the story losing the essence of it because of the stress of what will happen and if we want to jump and see the future episodes without enjoying the movie step by step we can always doing but it’s not the objective here.

You are the best habibti. I am lucky to have a friend like you who can make me stop at different stations to look and live life. Station to think, station to laugh, station to cry...
Tutaa loves you so much.

The Past, the Present and the Future: Part 2
Selam my dears this is my part 2 of Wise Lady's quiz :
Quote from: zafiro
Some are looking at the future, others at the past, others at both direction and others don’t want to see more than the current moment. They don’t want to look at the future because they are scared of it and they don’t want to look at the past because if they do, it reminds them their obligation toward the future.
Others at the past:
I can't see anyone so far looking backwards and connected to the past more than Behtar. The past is controlling her steps and making her locked in a small cage of thoughts & bad memories, no daylight can cross it.
The past had killed her happiness of today & tomorrow. Anytime she smiles or seems enjoying her time, her face looks fake.
Others at both directions:
Nehal & Behlul they both understood the meaning of being an orphan at a very young age, as much as the past is painful for them but still it is keeping images of parents they still remember and love. They both enjoy exploring the current today and having high expectations and ambitions of the future.
Fayrouz hanem my preferred multi complicated character, she is the perfect example of a woman who lives today fighting to achieve the best future she can gets, trying to erase the mistakes of the past.
Others don’t want to see more than the current moment:
Ms. Deniz who doesn't have any more TRUST in the coming future after seeing her dream escaping from between her hands. The current moment is all what she is aiming for right now, not to be separated from the two kids.
Baysan the sister of Behtar; I don't see her looking further than where her foot takes her. The coming baby might gives her a push towards the future but I don't feel it yet.
Besir the young handy man at Adnan's residence and closest friend to Nehal, I guess at the moment he doesn't want the current days to move so fast because the future is so vague for him, it might brings personal success and financial stability BUT also great loss of his platonic love story to Nehal.
Love

What they are now and what they do is all around time factor. Some are looking at the future, others at the past, others at both direction and others don’t want to see more than the current moment. They don’t want to look at the future because they are scared of it and they don’t want to look at the past because if they do, it reminds them their obligation toward the future.
This time I'll say my opinion about the characters looking at the future
Adnan bey is the one looking at the future, he is finally thinking forward to achieve something different in his life or change his destiny, the opportunity came to him and he took the advantage of it, it might not come again if he didn't move fast, he got the attention of the young lady who recently lost her father who meant the safe shelter for her and now she is so fragile yani a good catch, she is searching for her father's warm look in Adnan's eyes.
Adnan is the loving father who sacrificed 11 years of his youth for his two kids without recognizing his loss, he tried to fill the gap of their mother's absence, he managed to hold the small family together; he involved himself in their very tiny needs and smallest daily details.
And now life is smiling again for him, he can compensate what had missed throughout the past with this marriage.
I think Adnan is the kind of a GIVER personality and for this reason he was impressed by Behtar over Ms. Deniz.
Bulent the only son of Adnan bey is the other character looking at the future. Mashallah this cute kid is amazing he has the charisma of a promising actor; he is playing an important role in making the viewer believes in this family and their relations with others as if they exist in reality not on TV.
This boy knows he was the reason behind his late mother's death, she wasn't supposed to get pregnant due to a terminal sickness but she did and she suffered for sometime post delivery till she left this world. In his heart he is hiding this sorrow and self blame and that built his awareness of the near & far future.
As for the near future he needs Behtar the beautiful young stepmother to fill his mother's place, his reaction to this marriage was very innocent he happily accepted this news saying at least she is beautiful and she will treat us nicely.
About the far future, this boy is very wild and took Behlul his cousin as a perfect role model, he is imitating his style and can't wait to be adult to become the second playboy in the family.
Jameela is the 3rd character looking strongly at the future with a fantasy of becoming Mrs. Besir.
A young girl's personality full of complexity, not accepting the way she is living with her family at Adnan's bey house. Her closer age to Nehal aggravated the feeling of jealousy in her.
And her angry facial expression is always saying " why me ? " . She can't give up on Besir and lose him to Nehal who was born with a golden spoon between her lips.
She treats Besir like if he belongs to her and he must respond to her emotions with passion, after all they are sharing the same background and living status.
Last but not least my friends the guy who plays the lover of Fayrouz hanem (Ferdevs) for me he looks like if he is the son of Steve Austin.

MiMi habibti, I am so happy we are sharing this common interest to this movie, I am enjoying it much more knowing you are watching it with me and liking it much more after each new episode.
If being slow means when you write, you will make me enjoy much more the movie like you did with your post than it’s worth it to wait for you. You made me relive and rewatch bolum 1 once more.

The picture is reflecting the harmony of a team work :…
Yes you said what I am feeling about the movie. There is a perfect harmony in this movie only possible thanks to the perfect harmony that exist between the team. You can’t imagine how much I am enjoying the details the director is taking care of conveying to the viewer. He is wisely using all the talents of the cast for a wonderful result so far.
Reading you lines reminded me all the feeling and questions mark this first bolum triggered for me. The first bolum was memorable because in few minutes the camera told us so much things about each of the characters.
Take Nihal for example. In few steps with camera, we know who was she? She was the center of the world in this house and for this family. We knew she was feeling safe, loved and happy.
Watching Behlul and Basir standing in front of each other immediately shows these two shared a common past and this common past made them rivals instead of friends. It was interesting to see the one showing more insecurity wasn’t the driver (and later we know the handyman at that house) but the man who seem at that moment part of the family. We knew later who was who and some of the reasons of their discomfort with each other.
I loved a lot of details in this episode and immediately enjoyed the little messages sent to the viewer . Behlul was my big enigma from the first episode, From the moment he gave the gift to the miss saying to her what he said called my attention. I started asking my self about him. I am trying to ignore what I know about him and his actions in the future to understand him better without any preconceived idea.
The meaning of his message to the miss in this scene was revealed to us later but there was still a hidden message that we had to understand between the lines about him.
I won’t be longer with my post. I will talk longer about Behlul in a future post and the other characters and all the details calling my attention .
The old African slow train. Happy to be here but can't go faster.

Quote form Zafiro:
It’s interesting to see the camera/director capturing all the beauty around the story/characters. A very colorful place, the sea, the color of the sky, the flowers around them, the beautiful houses. All this perfect world God made for us to enjoy , is contrasting with our imperfections as human being. This is certainly a plus for the dizi.
Every inch on screen is so attractive to the eyes .. the pure nature & fantastic art .. nothing is missed exactly the way you have described it my dear ..
The picture is reflecting the harmony of a team work :
- The obvious respect of the writers toward the show viewers by enriching the characters with specific important details.
- The broad vision of the director to bring out each line written in the scenario he is holding in his hands into the most suitable spaces indoors and outdoors.
- The great talent of the camera operator or videographer to capture a continuous magical drawings and inserts the actors/actresses inside them.
- The producer for the generosity and approval of all the beautiful mostly expensive locations.
This beauty was administered from the first moment in the dizi .. immediately after we see bolum 1 written on screen, Adnan bey's hands are holding the sharp tool against a piece of wood , his both eyes are looking at his young daughter's sketch, sculpting her beauty on a fine art Portrait.
Then the scene is followed by another bright one, it's when Nehal comes out of her bedroom and stands in the corridor talking to her younger brother & Miss Deniz, how beautifully in few seconds we can see the sunlight penetrating both rooms curtains.
Then Nehal takes us for a short round in the house, she moves happily like a butterfly introducing the rest of the members living with her family at the big house.
At the end of the stairs Jameela (the young helper) who was in her way upstairs to water the plants, she nicely touches her shoulder telling her " I already watered the plants in my room ". She goes to the kitchen the kind chef is beautifully turning the fried eggs in the yellow pan, she humbly says good morning to the servants and Mr. Sulaiman (chef) points with his finger at his cheek as a gesture of him asking for a morning kiss from the butterfly, she goes straight to him and he gets his kiss, he reacts with appreciation & very cute fatherhood words " sweetie, mint, sugar, pistachio ".
And now the butterfly reaches the garden, in the way to her father's office, she takes the stairs, bends to smell some flowers, flies again touching the beautiful statue at her side, plays with the rounded sailing row.
Finally she reaches her father's place and gives the morning kiss before breakfast.

The heart or the mind?
Merhaba my dear friends,
Talking again about the forbidden love and time element. i want to share with you the following.
In episode 5 in the Arabic version (can be 3 in the original one) we had an interesting discussion between Adnan bey and miss Deniz (Lamis).
Adnan: Miss Lamis. Am I wrong? I am talking about my marriage.
Lamis (Deniz): Do you feel you are doing wrong?
A: ???? But I love her.
L: Then you aren’t doing wrong. Let what should happen to happen.
A: Thank you for this advice.
Yes Miss Deniz (Lamis) thinks love worth it all the sacrifices. Even if Adan bey thinks he is mistaken. Even if he thinks he is seeking for a forbidden Love. He should follow his heart and his heart loves this woman. I liked when she said to him: Let what should happen to happen. What does she mean with this phrase?
She means we can’t stop the flood of our feeling when we are in love. Even if we see this will take us to a painful and unhappy world, nothing can stop us from taking the ‘wrong’ decision.
I am sure a lot of us, we faced this in real life. Even knowing we are taking the wrong decision our feeling are too strong to let place to our mind to guide us.
May be she thinks Adnan bey is taking the wrong decision but the same time, she is aware that it’s the only decision he can take. He can’t choose another one. He won’t be happy in both cases but maybe it worth it to try to follow his heart.
It’s exactly what she did years ago (11 years ago). She took the uncertain decision to give all her time and her emotional and affective support to this man and his family without getting more than gratitude from him (and certainly a form of love too).
Maybe it was a mistake but I am sure she is aware that she didn’t have another choice. She couldn’t give up on them/him and she couldn’t give up on her dream to become one day somebody else than the miss in this house, to become the real mom to these kids. She had all the time to take another choice, to leave and start a new life but she couldn’t. And what had to happen happened.
One day she woke up and found that the man she secretly loved for so many years, has a new sparkle in eyes and the sparkle was for beautiful and a young girl who made him forget his age like he said to his sister. Time element again and how Adnan bey is dealing with the time he lost healing his wounds after he lost his wife. Love,

Love,

The Forbidden Loves (a reply)
Merhaba my dears,
Hoşgeldin Marvooti. I am really pleased to have this opportunity to share with you and all our sisters all the aspects, feelings and interest this dizi is triggering in me. I won’t pretend to share it with any wisdom because I don’t have any but I will share it with a lot of love and enthusiasm.
It sounds crazy but I see behind the camera a small representation of a real world. The personalities of the characters are so varied and very interesting. Several generations of people interacting with each other with their own perception of life, their own fear, concerns and dreams. It’s interesting to see how much they have in common but they approach things in a different way and it’s interesting to see how the writers will bring the two generations to a common and sharing life through the marriage of Adnan Bey and Bihter (Samar) and the consequences of it. I am enjoying this ‘micro world’ they are representing with all its values and anti values.

My real reason is Fayrouz hanem the mother of the young wife , in the dubbed version she is carrying a precious name to my heart , my best best best friend's name .. When she is being called my heart does bombom & when she talks my stomach doesn't stop hehehe !!
Ya Allah ya katkouta, I envy your best best best friend for having you, not a lot of us talk about their friend the way you are talking about her. Your heart’s bombom is felt all over the cyberspace when you wrote those lines. Your enthusiasm is so contagious canim . I am sure she knows she is lucky to have you in her life. I have plenty to say about Fayrouz Hanem, she is a very interesting character for sure but I need to watch more bolums before I talk about her.

When you elaborated more about the " time element factor " you helped me thinking deeply about how each character is affected by it
I agree with you canim, we have so much to say about ‘time element factor’ and how each of the characters is affected by it. What they are now and what they do is all around time factor. Some are looking at the future, others at the past, others at both direction and others don’t want to see more than the current moment. They don’t want to look at the future because they are scared of it and they don’t want to look at the past because if they do, it reminds them their obligation toward the future.
It’s certainly interesting to see how each of them is dealing with the past and with the future. Adnan bey, Nihal, Behlul (Mohand ), Besir, Ferdevs (Fayrouz), (Samar) and we have this space to talk about it deeply.

And last night after reading your second post, I was surprised to find you my dear standing like me at the same window, looking closer at Miss Deniz and her courageous reaction to the coming event …
Yes I think it’s inevitable to look at this admirable woman with much more interests. The actress is doing a great job with the character. I love her and love to see her expressive eyes talking to me. She isn’t not only making me looking at her but BEING HER sometimes. I am enjoying this feeling very much.
She is making me look at each character with her ‘own eyes’ but giving me space to have my own perception... I am feeling she will be my window to the coming events/story and I hope I am right about It and like you, I still have a lot to say about her.

She is scared that staying next to their room will be forbidden for her, talking to them freely will be forbidden, correcting their mistakes will be forbidden, tucking them at night in bed will be forbidden, more than all " looking at their father's eyes without feeling guilty will be absolutely forbidden " ..
I love your perception of this forbidden love. I wasn’t including the kids in her forbidden love … Yes this another of so many forbidden loves we have in the dizi and one of the most important of them. Thank you for pointing this to us.
Muchos Besos,

The Forbidden Loves
Hoşgeldin Wise lady ,
long time we didn't meet in such challenging discussion , I won't miss this opportunity to get all the African great wisdom out of you my friend ..
Now it's my turn to tell my part of the story, neither do I, the forbidden love is not my favor of a series to watch on a long term base ( two seasons ). My real reason is Fayrouz hanem the mother of the young wife , in the dubbed version she is carrying a precious name to my heart , my best best best friend's name. When she is being called my heart does bombom & when she talks my stomach doesn't stop hehehe !!
When you elaborated more about the " time element factor " you helped me thinking deeply about how each character is affected by it and I wanted to write something concerning Nihal the young lady in the family & lovely daughter of Adnan bey but every time I re-watch the first five bolums Miss Deniz attracts me more and more ..
And last night after reading your second post, I was surprised to find you my dear standing like me at the same window, looking closer at Miss Deniz and her courageous reaction to the coming event ..
Her eyes are saying a lot but no one is capable to read them at the moment except Bihlul the foxy dangerous nephew.
Her silence is screaming loudly " how dare you Adnan bey after all these years putting me nicely on the side shelf " .
Writing the resignation letter is my favorite scene , great performance was shown by this very professional actress, I love watching her tearing one letter and pulling another plain paper from her desk drawer for another trial.
Totally agree with you my Wise lady this dizi is presenting the forbidden love from different angles. After giving up on the resignation idea immediately she held between her fingers the frame of the two kids photo and spontaneously a very burning tear dropped from her eyes on their faces.
She is scared that staying next to their room will be forbidden for her, talking to them freely will be forbidden, correcting their mistakes will be forbidden, tucking them at night in bed will be forbidden, more than all " looking at their father's eyes without feeling guilty will be absolutely forbidden " ..
Likewise dear if I am a close friend to this woman I will be in big dilemma , for sure I will encourage her not to give up on the kids easily because they are part of her, if she needed to talk while I'm not around , then the piano is her only loyal friend.

Time Elements: Part 2
Merhaba every one,
MiMi'cim, I want to add something about the scene you talked about in your previous post. It was a total irony of life to hear Adnan Bey ‘s confessions to Lamis Hanem (Miss Deniz) . I am talking about his confession to her on how much time he needed to be cured and his hope about a new opportunity in life.
This new opportunity he was seeing is the one that suddenly turned Miss Deniz’s dream into ashes. While he was talking about his hope to make up for the time he wasted as a Man and about God’s blessing him with this new opportunity in life, she was realizing all the years she wasted as a Woman, the years she waiting for him to see her more than the miss in that house. The time he was describing as a cure to his wounds turned to be the cause of her tragedy. It’s the time she spent waiting for him.
I was thinking if this lady was a friend of mine, what would I say to her to support her? How many times we said to somebody ‘Give time to time, it will cure everything’ but which time will be a cure for the a time that passed without living your life?
I won’t finish my post without talking about the great performance of the two actors in this scene. The Teenager Smile Selcuk gave to Adnan bey when he heard from her how obvious was his love for Samar (Bihter) was amazing, for some seconds, the viewer could see Adnan bey much younger than he was.
The facial expression of Zerrin to show the growing pain of Lamis hanem , her inner fight to control herself from showing her devastated hearts till the last scene after Adnan bey left her. And funally the last scene when she used her body to express all the pain every cell of it was carrying at that moment showed a great actress we have in the dizi.
To finish I have to say that the writers too did a great job with the dialogs of the scene, every single word they made them say to each other can be subject of lines and lines of comments. And the last but not the least, the director did a great job from his side. He kept saying us things even after the characters finished their talk.
